9/17/16 Engine-17

**....Engine-17 respond to 4041 Newport ave. Cross Dahl st for a single vehicle accident. Calling party is the driver of he vehicle stating he is fine but vehicle is leaking fluid and has a smell coming from it. Engine 17 your time out is 1017 an dyou will respond on Tac-1.... **

' Ugh, ok gents lets head on out. '

* I walk to the engine and step into my turnout pants, I snap them up and grab my coat. tossing it on board I climb on up and get strapped in. Brian, ty and Rich all climb aboard. Rich turn the lights on and opens the door before pulling out. I look back and see brian and ty already getting suited up. *

" Engine-17 responding fire. "......

' Once we get there Brian can you get a standard line ready and ty u have tools. '

* I listen o the trucks response and laugh a bit knowing the crap they are gonna get themselves into. *

' Could be worse guys, we could be going to that .'

* Rich laughs as we begin to approach the scene. *

' Yea no worries boss, I will handle it. '

* I get my bunker coat and pants on then quickly get my scba strapped in just to be safe before leaning as far back as I can and look out the window at the world going by. *

* Up ahead we see the car and the owner sitting on the curb. He appears to be arguing on his cellphone with somebody. I chuckle a bit *

" Fire. Engine-17 on scene. Go ahead and cancel BLS at this time but continue PD in. "

* As we pull up I take my headset off and set it in its place above and behind my head. I leave my turnout coat in the truck and step out. I notice brian and ty already doing their thing so I head over to speak to the Caller who is still very visibly distraught. *

* I step out of the engine and walk to the back corner. As I open the door I take a quick look back at the car then grab a halligan only then walk with Brian over to the car. the hood is crunched up and fluid is leaking onto the ground but no smell of gas. it appears to be simply coolant. *

' Hey bri give me a second, '

* I pop the hood up with my halligan and immediately disconnect the battery and pull the cables fro the distributor. *

* I start getting the information from the driver and do a thourough check up on him. he appears to be fine and signs our waiver of further treatment. PD arrives as does a tow truck and the scene starts to wind down. *

" Fire, Engine-17 is available on radio. "

* I watch as the tow truck driver starts to sprinkle absorbant on the ground as the guys start to walk back to me. *

' You all ready to go?. '

* They give nods and we all load up. *

' Home geeves. '

* Rich shoots me a dirty look and I put my headset on as we pull away from the scene. *
