12/3/14 Engine-17

*** Engine-17 on radio Respond to 11214 Crenshaw Blvd, City bus driver asking for assistance with an unconscious male on board bus number 2823 PD also responding. Engine-17 your time out is 0810 and you will be responding on Tac-17. ***

* Steve looks over at me after hearing the call and says *

Steve: We're only 2 blocks away from that.

Me: yea your right, alright lets go.

" Fire from Truck-17 we are closer than the Engine, we can take on the call for them on Crenshaw......Break......Engine-17 from truck-17, John we'll go ahead and handle that response we are 2 blocks away. "

* Steve lights us up as we make our right turn onto Crenshaw from Los Al Blvd. the traffic on our side is starting to back up from the bus taking up the #3 lane so Steve takes the opposite side of the street and winds the Q way up. Up ahead we see the bus. *

" Fire. Truck-17 is on scene. "

* The truck comes to a stop and I take off my headphones. After placing them on their holder I step out. I walk over with Steve, Rob and Jay to the bus. *

Man: Hey hey hey u guys gotta help him I think he dayd.

Capt: alright alright alright just relax lets take a look.

* We board the bus and see theman he is still sitting on the seat head back and mouth wide open. He is breathing strong and before we get close to him we can smell the obvious ENORMOUS amount of alcohol on him. *

' ooook, I think we know where this is going lol. '

* I get my portable and walk with the guys into the bus, the guy is clearly intoxicated. *

" Truck-17 to Fire, what is the ETA on PD. "

* Dispatch comes back with less than a minute. Before their communication ends I see the officer walking up to the bus. I decide that now is a good time to try and revive him. I place hand firmly on the middle of his chest and press hard then rub around in a circle fast. *

' HEY, HEY WAKE UP DUDE!!!!!. '

* He wakes up very slowly, Looks around and cannot believe what all the commotion is about. *

' Yea you passed out on the bus here, people thought you were dead. '

* The guy chuckles for a second then tries to reach for his bottle again, the Cop stands him up firmly then puts him under arrest. *

' Well I can see our work here is done. '

" Fire....Truck-17 is clear PD has patient. Truck-17 is available returning to station. "

* We all walk out of the bus. I climb back into my seat and set my portable into position. I put my headgear back on and close my door. Steve puts the truck in gear after Robert calls ready and we start our drive back to station. *
