*I hear the call and walk away from my stuff while heading out. I see some of my crew getting ready to roll as I pull my bunker pants on, toss my coat inside, and climb inside. I look around as we start to head out. I pull my headset as we head North on Country Club West.*

'All right guys, shirt introduction, I'm Nichola, but back to the revelant topic. Let's get some O2, and the ALS bag. Hopefully we won't need anything else because hopefully it's something simple. Any questions?'

*When I don't hear any questions from anyone, I nod as we turn onto North Country Club, and all start looking for the RP or the PT.  When we find them, I nod and turn to the guys.*

'I found it.'

*I key the mic before I mark us on the scene on the MDT and push it out of the way as I get out.*

"Fire, Engine 11 has patient contact at the dispatched location. We have a man down, we may need a BLS unit at this location for patient transport."

*I start to put my medical gloves on as Jacob puts the directional bar on since its so late and Nicole and Fernando get the ALS bag and the O2.  I walk over and see the man with pretty labored breaths as I drop to a knee in front of him.*

Me: 'Sir, I'm Nicholas with the Fire Department.  I hear you're having a problem breathing?'

Man: 'Y-Yeah.'

*I nod and then try to calm the man down.*

'All right sir, I need you to take some slow and deep breaths for me, can you do that?'

*He nods as I get out my stethoscope and BP cuff to start taking some vitals.*

'Sir, I'm just gonna take your blood pressure and your pulse rate, ok?  Nothing to worry about, just keep breathing slowly.'

*I start with the BP and then move to the pulse.  I keep trying to calm the man down while the guys set up the O2.*

Me: 'Do you have any other pain or anything else that feels strange, sir?'

*I nod when he shakes his head no while trying to calm his breathing.*

Me:'So what are you doing out so late, sir?'

Man: 'Fight with my... daughter.  We were....  finishing up our... laps in the pool because of my...knees.'

*I nod and try to calm him down as I record the 150/92 BP, I slide away and let the guys put the O2 mask on. I step back and key the mic as I start to talk to the daughter and to Fire. I key the mic first and turn around.*

"Fire... We're gonna request that BLS unit to our location Code 1."

*I turn around to the daughter and tell her that we have an ambulance responding to take him to the hospital as she agrees. We keep them company until EMS requests a status on the PT. I turn around and read the vitals off of the chart. A few minutes later, they arrive as we help them the PT up and get him to the BLS unit where the daughter follows the EMTs in as they take off. We climb back on the rig and shut the lights down and head back. I leave the MDT where it is but call us in service on the radio as we head back to the station to go to bed again.*
